Do ensure the sink is sitting the correct position. Insert the wing nuts into the available screw heads: After the undermount sink has been clamped, insert the wing nuts into the available screw heads. When the screw nuts are inserted, ensure they are tight, if they are not tight, you can tighten them with your hands.
If boiling water does not unclog your drain, wait for the sink to cool off and then remove the basket drainer. Use a plunger to attempt to clear the clog in the drain. This is best accomplished by using quick, sharp movements with the plunger. This may take several minutes to be successful, so do not give up too easily if you do not unclog the sink right away. If the clog clears, remove it from the sink to the trash can and replace the basket drainer.
Next fit the taps. To make the job of connecting the taps to the supply pipes easier, it is often a good idea to fit 'tails' first. Tails are short lengths of hand-bendable copper pipe fixed to the laps with tap connectors. Because they can be flexed, connecting the tails to the supply pipes, even once the sink or basin is in position, is easy.
